About MacSQL Documents

MacSQL is based around documents that maintain connection information, a query history, and various settings. A list of recently opened documents is maintained in the File menu for your convenience.

When opening a new connection, a new document is automatically created for you. When you close a document, you will be prompted to save the document.

All passwords are saved in the keychain.

Opening a saved document

There are three ways to open an existing document.

  1. Double click on the document in the Finder (or click on it in the Dock)
  2. Choose Open from the File menu and locate the document
  3. Select the document from the Open Recent submenu in the File menu

MacSQL will not allow you to open a document that is already opened -- instead, the already open document will be brought to the front. If you would like multiple connections to the same database, make multiple documents.
